Meet The Trainer
Maria has had a fond love of dogs and animals since childhood. Following up on that love she attended ABC (Animal Behavior College) where she earned her professional degree in canine obedience training. She is also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and is also certified by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator. She has been professionally training dogs for 15 years and has had 5 years of experience training dogs in a large kennel environment. Such an environment allowed her to work with a wide variety of dog breeds allowing her to familiarize herself with each breeds unique personality traits and characteristics. Further, this broad exposure gave her the opportunity to thoroughly test her problem solving skills tackling such problems as: house training, boundaries, digging, aggression, chewing, barking, biting, jumping, and running away. Maria's passion for dog training constantly drives her to stay atop of current trends in the field. She regularly attends industry related seminars by renowned trainers such as John Rogerson, Brenda Aloff and more. Maria not only trains dogs, but shows them as well. She has extensive experience showing Siberian Huskies on the local circuits. Maria takes her training seriously and understands that with it comes great responsibility, therefore, she insists upon being licensed and insured.
